Jon Teckman is a former Chief Executive of the British Film Institute and currently Treasurer of the British Board of Film Classification.  His experience on the fringes of the film industry inspired his debut novel Ordinary Joe, published by The Borough Press in July 2016, which has been described as a fast-paced, hilarious comedy about what happens when the worlds of Hollywood and accountancy collide.  Jon would like it to be compared to the works of his hero Joseph Heller but accepts that a nearer comparator is probably Ben Elton.  Jon worked on Ordinary Joe for 7 years before it was picked up through an open submission competition – one of only two of more than 400 entries to be published.  Jon is married with two sons and lives in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
